Umm Ali Recipe
If you like bread pudding, you will love Umm Ali which is a traditional Egyptian dessert.
My husband and I fell in love with Umm Ali soon after we moved to Dubai, and it's still one of our favorite desserts 12 1/2 years later!
Unlike bread pudding, which is made with stale bread, Umm Ali is made with buttery, flaky puff pastry which takes it to another level of yum 😋. This is an easy recipe, so you don't have to wait for a special occasion to make it. Please give it a try when you feel like having something warm and comforting any day of the week.

Tips and Bits
You can make these with broken up palmiers if you don't want to bake puff pastry. If you are using palmiers, decrease sugar as palmiers are sweet.
Cinnamon or cardamom can be added to the milk while boiling.
